At a time when all transport systems (passenger and freight alike) are being treated more as a problem for the transmission of the pandemic – already present in more than 210 countries around the world – rather than as development allotments, it is certainly interesting to appeal to all of you about these educational and informative events. Given the need to limit physical contact, we believe that our communication through webinars is a step in the right direction.
There is no doubt that the socioeconomic pressure due to the spread of the pandemic will change quite substantially a lot of the things we already know about transport, but certainly not to policies and practices of the the past. Intermodal transport in both passenger and freight operations has been from the beginning and will remain on track in terms of ensuring higher productivity, safety and timely management of problems and exception handling. In this sense, public discussion on combined transport is more timely than ever. The webinars organized by the Municipality of Igoumenitsa in the framework of Interconnect project aim to assist both in the understanding of currenct EU Policies and the emergence of good practices in the field as well as in the presentation of the pilot actions of the project towards the fulfilment of the common objectives.
In the frame of the European Project Inter-Connect, funded by the ADRION 2014-2020 program and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Municipality of Igoumenitsa, Lead Partner of the project, invites you to participate in the 2 Webinars, lasting about two hours.
